About us

The Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department is a chartered corporation of The State of Texas and operates under the provisions of our By-Laws. We operate under a contract with the City of Nassau Bay, Texas to provide Fire and Rescue Services to the citizens who work, visit and live here.

The NBVFD currently has 43 members who are all volunteers. Our membership contains a wide variety of pesonnel from various backgrounds all providing a very important service to our community.

While we respond to emergencies whenever needed we usually meet on Tuesday nights at the fire station for meetings and training. The first Tuesday of every month is devoted to a general business meeting which all members are encouraged to attend. Our training drills are held on the second, third and fourth Tuesday nights. When the month has a fifth Tuesday it is set aside for maintenance drills. NBVD

We are members of the Harris County Fire Fighters Association, The National Fire Protection Association and the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas.

Our fire station is located behind Nassau Bay City Hall in Nassau Bay. Our apparatus includes three engines, one light rescue, one command vehicle, one utility vehicle, two boats and a retired 6X6 military vehicle. Check out our station and apparatus pages for more information.

Our leadership staff is divided into two groups, Line Officers and Adminsitrative Officers. Line Officers consist of the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Captains and Lieutenants. Administravtive Officers consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Fire Prevention Officer. Please see our members page for more details.
